The Council is mandated to review and ensure the accreditation of all allied health training institutions seeking accreditation. The Accreditation Committee of the Council meets in January, April, July and October each year. The Council does not accept accreditation application for certificate programmes.

The Council also ensures that the standard of study and training in recognised institutions is maintained and determines, in consultation with the appropriate educational institutions, courses of instruction and practical training for allied health professionals.

Process of Accreditation

  • Review of Accreditation Document submitted by the institution seeking Accreditation
  • A copy of the concerns raised in the report is forwarded to the institution for correction and resubmission.
  • Visitation of institution by Panel selected by Council
  • Council decision on accreditation status based on the report submitted by the Panel.
